Education

Education has been one of my passions from the very beginning of my career. Before I was behind the chair full time, I was an Educator with the Paul Mitchell Schools. I learned how to connect with each learning style, catering my lesson plans to each individual mind and soon fell in love with being able to bridge knowledge gaps and teach the “why” and not just how. From there I went on to National Education which furthered my teachings to sales and client relations. Next, I became Color Director of a salon and dove more into independent education due to the response of that. I am able to let go of brand focus and dive into salon reality, logic and pace. I feel that the internet makes things too complicated and brands take too much credit for simple techniques that can make you successful behind the chair. I took my 10 week course and condensed it into two options for stripped down education to shape you into a purposeful colorist behind the chair and grow your business.

Option One - This is a one day training including:

  • Consultations

This can make or break a service. Learn to set the expectation for your guest. A solid consultation will assure everyone is on the same page for a successful service and can educate your guest on the process while conveying the value of the service.

  • Formulation

Confidence is key, so we will take it back to the core of color theory. This discussion will include “what if’s”, formulating drills and live assessments.

  • Placement and Effect

Pace is profit and when you cut the guesswork, you can do double processes in record time. We will diagram and demo key placements and learn why they work.

  • Balayage Demo

I will demo my version of balayage, start to finish including toning.

  • Social Media Discussion

We will go over how I shoot my photos and create stories, the way I use Social Media to gain clients (not just followers) and assist your salon/studio in finding key areas to display and shoot your brand.

Option two - This is a two day training including:

  • Foil work demo/hands on coaching

Dive in with me as we foil together seeing placement and effect come to life. Whether it’s trial and error or working on perfect pace, you will get coaching as you work live.

Day Two

  • Specialty Color (balayage/ombre/all those terms)

Watch as I demo my version of balayage live, covering all forms of the word/technique.

  • Balayage Demo and hands on coaching

Hands on practice as you work with direct coaching from me. If its something new, I can guide you through motions, if you’re a pro then we will work on pace and purposeful placement.

  • Toning hands on and discussion

We will tone our newly created work and discuss possibilities.

  • Corrective Color Discussion

Breaking down what a true color correction is, and how to make them less scary (for you, and the guest). We will go over scenarios and talk through our worst while formulating each together.

  • Social Media hands on and Client Loyalty

We will go over how I shoot my photos and create stories, the way I use Social Media to gain clients (not just followers) and assist your salon/studio in finding key areas to display and shoot your brand. Our clients are the reason our careers exist so we will discuss how to assure your posts are just as purposeful as your work. We will end on how to create a lasting bond and solid clientele and how to build that from the ground up.

Both options can be customized or a’la carte upon consultation with your salon to more target what is needed. Contact below to start the consultation and booking process!
